Too often people don't want to hear about the practical side of moving abroad. I have helped literally dozens of families move abroad, and the ones that do really well have a sense of adventure, realize that everyday won't be a vacation, and resolve not to simply be a transplated American, but to become an active member of their new community. Just a little practical advice too, when you are packing don't bring a lot of stuff.
