About

candyheartKnown in civilian life as Erin Van Rheenen, Miss Move Abroad got her name when a friend Erin hadn’t seen in years said he’d heard she’d been working as a dancer in Nicaragua. She hadn’t, but that was about the only job and place she hadn’t tried. On hearing that she’d lived in Nigeria, Ireland, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Costa Rica, the friend dubbed her Miss Move Abroad.

She’s been trying to live up to the name ever since. Currently between move-abroad stints (not having a trust fund can cramp your style), she’s laying the groundwork for the next move. Not a born multi-tasker, she is nevertheless trying to simultaneously work on web content for a nonprofit; a children’s book about a manatee; a novel about a woman who inherits land in Costa Rica from a father she never knew; the fourth edition of her guide, Living Abroad in Costa Rica; and the next iteration of her iPhone app, Costa Rica Trip Ideas.
